So I finished writing down the melody for Rue’s Lullaby…

I still don’t want to post a vocal recording, though. Partially because everything I record on this PC is terrible quality. I mostly don’t want to post a vocal recording because I hate my voice. But you know.

I will eventually, just not yet.

Anyway, should I post the sheet music anyway? I mean, the piano tune is still up under the music tag (I think?) but it’s kind of fuzzy…

(By the way, when I say sheet music, I mean the single-line melody written out on some staff. There is no way in hell I’m writing out the piano part yet, that’s improv like everything else I play)

Since I keep cluttering my blog up with Pottermore spam (!!!)

This is Rue’s Lullaby—yes, the one from the Hunger Games. I composed the music earlier this year, and it’s very simple—just a no-frills piano tune based on what I heard in my head when I read the lyrics in the book.

I would post a vocal version, but… I hate my voice, so I’m going to have to work up more courage before I do that >.<

Sorry about the fuzzy crap in the background, I blame my mic.

I’ve been working on this one for a while—Peeta’s theme (yes, Hunger-Games-Peeta, what other character named “Peeta” do you know?) composed and played by this one. Gross repetition and motive overuse tells you that yes, this is a draft.

Doodle in E-Flat on the piano—I’ve made up a bunch of quirky little tunes based off of this. This in itself is not a tune—just a piano doodle that I use to warm up.

Sorry about the weird-ass fuzzy-sounding background junk, I’m pretty sure that’s my crappy mic—I don’t know how to fix it.

Concept piece that I composed in my freshman year of high school. A few months ago, I returned to it and made it less stupid (meaning more experimental with musical motives / phrasing / crap)

Please, listen all the way through — I know that the beginning is extremely quiet (you’re lucky if you can even hear it at all), but it doesn’t reflect the character of the piece itself at all, really. Trust me.

Seriously, though — once you get past the first minute or so, it’s not as lame. I hope.

If you’d like to hear the story that this piece illustrates, message me and I’ll post it.
